Mentor coaching is an integral part of your ICF accreditation process. It is the practice where the Mentor coach provides the coach with professional assistance in developing and demonstrating the levels of coaching competency as required by the target credential level (ACC, PCC, MCC). Mentor coaching is a feedback process which allows for reflection and based on continuous improvement.
To apply for an ICF credential, you are required to have a minimum of 10 hours mentor coaching sessions over a minimum of 3 months by a qualified Mentor Coach who holds ICF certification at the same or higher level than that which you are applying for.
To renew your Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential, you require an additional 10 hours of mentor coaching since the initial award of your credential.
The required 10 hours of mentor coaching must include a minimum of 3 hours one-to-one (1:1) mentor coaching and the rest can be group mentor coaching with a maximum of 10 participants.
